After almost six months of work by Maurice Hawk students, teachers, administration and PTA parents, it was so exciting to finally see everything come together - and what a success! We sold over 180 tickets and raised $17,000!!
The evening was truly memorable. Mercer Oaks was filled with the familiar faces of Maurice Hawk parents & staff. The dining room buzzed with laughter and excitement. Add in the beautiful artwork, live music and delicious food and it was already a great night out. And then the bidding started...!
In addition to the beautiful class masterpieces, the exclusive “teacher time experiences” proved to be hot-ticket auction items at the event. Many teachers generously donated their time for special outings with their students outside of school hours. Principal Denise Mengani and Vice-Principal Patricia Buell also participated, offering three lucky students the opportunity to be Principal and Vice-Principal for the Day! Many local and national sponsors donated items for both the live and silent auctions, and several raffle items were given away throughout the fun-filled evening.

And the Live Auction begins...Can you feel the energy & excitement?!
This outstanding fund-raising event would not have been possible without the support of the entire Maurice Hawk community and local sponsors. We’d especially like to thank Principal Denise Mengani and the school administration for their unwavering guidance and assistance throughout the planning process. We greatly appreciate the classroom time that all the Hawk teachers set aside to complete the art projects and are overwhelmed by the generosity of those 44 teachers who also donated their own time and resources for the silent auction “teacher time experiences.” The countless ways the PTA volunteers assisted with the auction, from designing the invitations to working at the event that evening, were also instrumental in making it a reality.
We are also grateful to our many local sponsors for their generous donations: Al Jon’s in West Windsor, Bugher Marine Services, Camden Riversharks, Carlucci’s in West Windsor, Catherine Lombardi Restaurant in New Brunswick, Gold Medal Impressions, Image Arts in Princeton, McCaffrey’s in West Windsor, McCarter Theatre, NailZone, Perna’s Plant and Flower Shop, Princeton Nassau Pediatrics, State Theatre New Brunswick, That Pottery Place, Triangle Copy East Windsor, Trenton Thunder, Wegmans in Princeton, West Windsor Arts Council, Whole Foods Market in Princeton, and Wildflowers of Princeton Junction.
Thank you all for a truly memorable event! The collaboration that made it possible is a testament to the dedication of our educators, parents and local retailers that make our community the special place that it is.
